Description:

Often referred to as "black diamonds," black truffles, while not as rare as the white, are nonetheless very special. Our extra virgin olive oil has been aged slowly with black truffles. The oil is then filtered and any sediment is removed. The sparkling clear oil should be used sparingly. Enjoy the taste of this gourmet jewel over eggs, in sauces and sprinkled on fine cheese. Here's what one of our customers had to say about our black truffle oil: "I am addicted to your truffle oil. I have tried others that people said were great, but none compare to yours."

JR Mushrooms & Specialties, Inc., has been a provider of outstanding quality dried mushrooms and specialty gourmet products to fine retailers since 1990. Due to the overwhelming positive responses and comments, the company decided to make these products available directly to retail customers.

5Tickles your tongue and purseFeb 05, 2009
By Wood Wren "Wren"
Some of this stuff can get rather expensive but this particular brand is the most cost effective product of its kind that I have come across and it still delivers the unique and delicious flavor you are looking for. I was a bit skeptical at first, due to the price, but after tasting it at a friend's house, I became a true believer. Like another reviewer here, I add a dash to steamed veggies and a wee bit to some of my salad dressings and to be frank, it will tickle your tongue while knocking your socks off. The best part is that you get all this quality and you do not have to lay awake at nights worrying about what you spent on the stuff.

5The real dealNov 23, 2009
By No Ax To Grind
After I had a pizza with truffles and porcini mushrooms in a small town in Tuscany, I was a committed truffle fan.

And the deal was already sealed when I had potato chips with truffle oil.

It was with at least those two things in mind that I started looking for truffle oil. My first attempt was La Tourangelle (see my review on Amazon). You really have to work to find the truffle essence in the Tourangelle version.

But, JR's La Truffiere is the real deal. Pungent, garlicky, and very powerful. I've only tried two different truffle oils, but I'll risk giving this one a five star rating since I can't imagine a better version.

5black truffle oilJan 11, 2009
By Laurie d'Ault
I looked at a lot of different truffle oils and this one came from a manufacturer that makes a lot of related items. It tastes great and it is a good value. I bought it for my son-in-law who is a professional chef and he thinks it's just great, too!

4Worth the priceApr 13, 2009
By STayag "Tia Luna"
The smaller sized bottle is perfect for someone who would like to sample the taste before purchasing a larger size. A little goes a long way. Tasty and flavorful--I think it's better used in cold dishes like salads instead of hot dishes where the flavor can get lost. Delivery was fast and I would purchase other products from this company.

5Lot of Bang for the Buck!Dec 21, 2010
By Terri J. Rice "ricepaper"
I love this stuff!!

A little black truffle oil goes a long way. You can use from one teaspoon to one tablespoon mixed with regular olive oil or even plain old canola oil for the most amazing je ne sais quois.

I add about a teaspoon to my Italian salad dressing and it adds a rich depth of flavor.

Just tonight we used it on grilled salmon and it was fantastic.

I store it in the refrigerator because I use it so slowly that I don't want it to go rancid. If you do store it in the refrigerator you need to pull it out enough ahead that the oil can liquefy.
