Description:

Potato gnocchi are a typical dish of the Italian culinary tradition and differ according to the regional origin in Dimenion, form and dough type. De Cecco introduces a tasty and balanced product, born from the classical recipe which simply combines select potatoes with soft grain flour. They are known for cooking in just a few minutes, their oval shape and ridged surface make them perfect to create new inviting dishes every day. They are delicious with a wide range of sauces like ragu' or pesto alla Genovese or with special and creative cheese based creamy sauces, or simply with melted butter, sage and parmesan. Since 1886 we have liked our pasta to be bronze drawn and slowly dried because we like it to fall into the plate full of taste, rough and always "al dente". Even though our taste has not changed, as we feel the same love for tradition, we have continued to improve our production technologies.

5If I Could Give it a Higher Review, I Would!Aug 14, 2009
By Carol Lugg
We LOVE gnocchi! We discovered it many years ago, and are always on the look out for it at restaurants. The brand we used to purchase, we could no longer find, so I turned to trusty Amazon.com, and found the DeCecco brand. We are always skeptical of anything new in the gnocchi area, and I have to say, we have decided that this brand is even better than what we were using before! We LOVE to have gnocchi with pesto sauce for dinner, and this particular brand is awesome! You will not be disappointed in the flavor, and the price is not bad either! As a matter of fact, I think I am nearly out of gnocchi, and will be needing to place another order very soon!

5Closest to homemade that I have tasted...Aug 24, 2008

I love gnocchi, but I am terrible at making them. I have been spoiled growing up with my mother (from Italy) and aunts (from Italy) all making the most amazing gnocchi. That being said, I have to say that the DeCecco gnocchi, although not tasting "homemade," are the best purchased gnocchi I've tasted. I've already ordered 2 packs of 12! Its great for a last minute meal if you have sauce in the fridge as they cook in a few minutes. Great with bechamel or white sauce too.

4Good, but not a re-order item for meAug 12, 2011
By Pennsylvania Reader
These gnocchi are good. The texture is right, a nice balance of springy and fluffy. (Watch them continuously while they're cooking. They cook very quickly and can be overcooked easily.) But of the three packages I've cooked so far, all had a very slight sour taste. They weren't spoiled in any way, just had a slightly tangy flavor that I don't associate with gnocchi. It's not noticeable with a red sauce but is with a lighter flavored sauce. I don't know if this taste is typical of the brand. I probably won't re-order these because I like dried pasta for tomato sauces, but they are definitely worth trying.

3Good value, but the taste matches the price...Nov 16, 2011

I ordered a 4 pack of these gnocchi for around $8. Compared to the grocery store, the price was drastically cheaper. However, I wasn't a fan of this particular brand. They seemed unusually gummy and had a very different taste than I have ever encountered.
