The Illy Espresso Pods are hard to find, but not if you go through Amazon. The Dark Roast Pods are awesome. Easy to use with no clean up and the best part is they taste great. I recommend this product.

I found these pods to be decent, but they lacked a certain body. Not sure if it is the bean or the roast, but the similar Starbucks product produces a must nicer crema and darker heart. Overall I'd say they are pretty good, but I'm going to stick with the Starbucks deal for now (until I find something even better :)..)

I have always enjoyed illy's espresso coffee beans, but was not sure about the pods. However, I got a handpresso as a gift, so I decided to try the illy's espresso pods, because I have to use pods with my Handpresso. I was pretty surprised how the espresso turned out. It was much better than I have expected. I got good strong flavor. Although still not as good as the illy espresso coffee beans, but for portable, it is quite amazing already. Highly recommended!

I have a De Longhi machine that is "ESE" capable so I thought I would see if the pods were any good. The cleanup/setup part is great - run a little water through, place pod inside, go. Cleanup is even better - just throw the pod out. However the taste is bitter and tastes like filter coffee not espresso (no crema, etc). At which point, I'd just make a cup of regular filter coffee. So if you want to turn your espresso maker into the occasional K-cup machine great, but if you want "easy" espresso tasting coffee this is not it.

I use these pods with my Breville "Roma" machine and, when used as a single shot," am pleased with the flavor, thickness and texture of the shot - and it's a whole lot easier than cleaning up grounds.
